“Here Go brings together a collection of deadpan depictions of more or less natural things. The work takes the directness of stimulus visuals, commercial product photography, identification, and documentation as a starting point. The photographs in the series Fancier are slight but crucial departures from the images that fancy pigeon breeders take of their winning birds. Other works stray further from their antecedents or are imagined entirely. All focus on a negotiated relationship to the natural world, whether intimate or arm’s-length.”
